If some of the fanbase had any sense they will know that Liverpool sold Coutinho who wanted to leave and used the funds to buy players like Van Dijk who helped them win the ECL and EPL. Chelsea sold Hazard and have know won the Champions League again. But some Spurs fans are happy seeing the club remain without trophies just to keep an unhappy player!
If he stays against his will it will be a missed opportunity for Spurs. He will run down his contract and Spurs will earn zero from him. Well no, he won’t run down his contract. He will still have two years left so could still go next summer for £80-£90m. And even if he did run it down, he’d be nearly 30 when he left! We’d have had Kane for his best years.
It’s not about earning money from his sale, it’s about keeping our best players.

I honestly couldn’t give a flying fuck about getting 150 mil or so for him. What’s it do for us as supporters ? Nothing. We lose our best player and we have to spend 80 mil to replace him anyway with a striker that’s probably nowhere near the level, then what? It’s in our best interest to keep Harry for at least another season and build around him. Sell the crap players to raise funds if need be. I don’t care if his value goes down next summer. We should be actively looking to keep Kane and build ourselves up again, not sell him which means we inevitably start all over again.
Chelsea sold KDB, Salah and Mata in their prime and yet went on to win several trophies afterwards. And so did the players. Clubs with ambition scout and find 11 good players who play to a system that suits them like Leicester have and not just have 1 or 2 very good players and 9 poor players.
