Decent interview with Kion Etete - starts at 3 minute mark, lasts 5 minutes

Not in squad today, despite his 15 minute cameo off bench a few days ago

Latest update from Cheltenham Town manager Michael Duff ahead of Portsmouth at home (on sat)
7th April

How is Kion Etete?

He has an issue with his hip. He trained on Tuesday and we are fully expecting him to train on Thursday and Friday, if it's right. It's still a bit of a niggle, so it's whether he is comfortable playing with it as well. Structurally I think he is fine. It's part of his loan, learning and understanding his body and what he can or can't play through. That's why young players go out on loan, so they can have these experiences somewhere else, not in Tottenham's first team.

If he's still got a 'niggle' and it might get worse if he plays, it sounds horribly like Skipp where a few weeks rest is the only safe answer.

Not sure anyone is going to be delighted with that news though - Cheltenham were pretty low down in table but Etete's arrival seemed to get their attack going, not just in his own goals and assists but generally, so they had an upturn in form getting them away from being too close to relegation zone for comfort. But I think decision to play or not will be with Spurs medics and to some extent the player.

Would be good though if he can get a few more games and goals/assists but I think they are into their last half dozen games so its a bit tight.

Team news

It's hoped that Kion Etete could return to the side after his recent injury troubles.

Will be good if true, Cheltenham have only 5 league games before the end of the season and it would be good if he can play in most of them to add to his 2 goals and 3 assists in 6 starts and 3 off the bench in 600 minutes ( ie a goal;/assist every 86 minutes).

In starting lineup :tanguythumb:

BBC:

Liam Sercombe's second-half goal earned Cheltenham a 1-0 home win over Portsmouth.

Kion Etete held the ball up and found Wright, who supplied Sercombe and he beat Bazunu.

Gold:
Etete was finally back in action and in the starting line-up for Cheltenham Town at the weekend as they won 1-0 at Accrington.

The 20-year-old has been struggling with an ankle injury in the past month but returned to get 82 minutes under his belt up front during the victory and was involved in Callum Wright's winning goal.

Etete was handed a six in Gloucester Live's players ratings, with the review: "A hot and cold game for the young striker, struggled physically against Portsmouth’s back line but turned well to feed Wright for the goal."

The big forward has now played 10 times for League One side Cheltenham, scoring two goals and laying on three assists, following the first half of the season when he was on loan in League Two at Northampton, netting six goals and providing two assists in his 23 games.

So that's 3 goals and 3 assists in 8 starts and 3 off the bench - totalling 773 minutes or a goal involvement (goal or assist) every 128 minutes at League 1 Cheltenham Town.

Not bad given his injury from which he's just returned.

Don't think the official highlights are up yet but you can see from 3:49 in this vlog how well Etete does for Cheltenham's first goal that he doesn't even get an assist for! (Number 29)
2nd goal (Etete's 2 yard goal) at 6:51
