Difficult to judge the guy based on how rusty he met me whenever he plays, he’s not exactly had a chance but why would he ahead of a top class keeper having a great season.

It’s why I’m always in favour of a prem proven but ageing number 2, probably still has errors in them due to limited game time but far more dependable. We had it absolutely right with Vorm, Cudicini etc.

Tottenham have signed Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini on a season-long loan, with the option to make it a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old Italian becomes Spurs' first signing of the summer under new head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and is expected to challenge Hugo Lloris for the number one spot.
Spurs have an option to buy Gollini on a permanent deal for £13m if he plays a certain number of games in the upcoming season, according to Sky in Italy.

Google search has every major outlet quoting the £13 mill permanent transfer fee but no mention anywhere of a loan fee.
Anyone have an idea of the loan fee?

Tottenham want to keep Pierluigi Gollini on loan next season, with Tuttomercatoweb reporting that a meeting concerning his future has been scheduled for the end of the campaign.

Gollini has not had the easiest first year at Tottenham. It appeared to be a coup for Spurs to bring the Italian to North London considering that he has rebuilt his career with Atalanta.

However, Hugo Lloris has held onto the number one spot. And with that, Gollini is yet to make his Premier League debut for Tottenham.

Reports had previously claimed that Tottenham are favourites to sign Sam Johnstone. And it was suggested that Antonio Conte was not looking to keep Gollini at Spurs beyond this season.

However, it would appear that there is still a chance that he could stick around. Tuttomercatoweb reports that a meeting between Spurs and Atalanta is set to take place at the end of the season.

And it is suggested that Tottenham want to keep Gollini on loan for another year. The report does suggest that there are teams in Italy who also want the 27-year-old.

Tottenham want to keep Gollini

Fans may have mixed feelings about the idea of Tottenham wanting to keep Gollini. He has had some good moments when he has been picked. And another loan would leave Conte and Fabio Paratici with the funds to strengthen in other areas.

However, Johnstone looks to be the smarter choice. He is proven in the Premier League. And it may be beneficial to sign an Englishman if they are looking at other foreign targets.

Gollini has been described as ‘excellent’ during his time at Tottenham. So it makes sense to keep their options open.

But it is surely fair to assume that some Tottenham fans may not be best pleased if Gollini is the man tasked with providing cover for Lloris next season.
