To be fair, I would have kept him on and took Son off.

In the 2nd half, I remember son making a tackle and that was it. Only remember hearing his name mentioned once.

But the I not happy with our front three overall, it just breaks down all too often for my liking.

When our best finisher today was a defender, you know ALL our attackers had an off day finishing wise.

Son and Maddison took terrible shots. Porro missed a chance but he's a defender so can go easier.

Also think there were a handful of situations where we took the wrong option.

Was just a poor day at the finishing office.

Dunno why he didn't go for that first chance with his head though.

Okay cool but he has this sort of day every single time he plays, others do not.

Others generally get better service than he does.

Despite all of Kulu's good work, hold up play and bountiful energy. He has zero assists, although he has scored two goals.

Solomon, hasn't even played a quarter of the time and has two assists for Sonny. But he is injured, but I am looking forward to seeing Gil play.

He’s had plenty of chances this season imo - his finishing has generally been woeful.

I hear you, but, we’re in first place with the most shots taken in the whole Prem. Teams park the bus against us routinely. Kulu is often singled out for double-teaming.

We’re doing fine- especially compared to what we expected going into this season. It’s not like the Prem is easy and we “deserve” to be scoring 4 a game…

Not knocking us, I just know we can be so much better. A lot better and I just look forward to all the games coming and in the future. Ange ball is like a drug.

I am hoping Gil hit the ground running under this system and if he does and Veliz too....

Gil -------- Veliz -------- Johnson

-Maddison --------- Bentacur
---------- Bissouma

Could very well be the future.

I’m all about it my friend and have similarly high hopes for Gil and Veliz. Johnson already has proven himself valuable and worthy in my eyes.

We have to keep in mind we’re still so new to the system- there is immense room for improvement as more players become more comfortable with the system.

It could only be described as football porn.

I don't really mind him creating and missing chances on the left, or being a sub. That was never my beef with him.

I actually think he does better than Solomon and Johnson.

The problem is the £60 mil, number 9 on his shirt, and no 20 goal striker.

You are totally missing a point.
We are talking about CF who has 0 goals scored by foot in 1400 minutes of EPL football.

Why narrow down to one specific chance when he has had tens of them across this time and haven't scored a single one...
This is why there is no argument that he’s good enough. That is an embarrassing state of affairs. We are at a stage now where we don’t need to or accept mediocrity.

Once the cheque clears (aside from adding pressure to the player) it becomes irrelevant (yet some fans will be hellbent on shackling the player with the price-tag for their entire tenure.... See: Lamela).....

.........Unless you (or others) mistakenly think we can sell him on for close to the same amount?

More broadly.....

It's strange (yet predictable).... A few weeks ago Richy comes out and reveals he's having a tough time mentally and away from the game. In that moment, sanctimonious claims of support go through the roof.

Since then he's had a couple of decent performances, assisted and could have easily had a few more.

Yet a couple of misses in our most recent game (i.e one foul and one chance well defended) later and he's getting battered with comments like "not good enough for the EPL" etc.

"Support" eh. 🙄

For context; this season:

Richy
:
Played 466 mins > 2 G / 2 A
= 1 x G&A every 116.5mins.

Solomon:
Played 280mins > 0 G / 2 A
= 1 x G&A every 140mins.

Kulu:
Played 732mins > 2 G / 0 A
= 1 x G&A every 366mins.

Johnson:
Played 73 mins > 0 G / 0 A
= 0 x G&A

He may not be anyone's dream player (he's not mine); but get off his back FFS.

Rightly or wrongly I think fans when they see the price we paid would expect better than what we got.Richi I am sure has qualities but it just doesn't seem it's going to work out with us .

Kulusevski ranks 12th in the league for expected assists, he's unlucky that the chances he creates haven't been scored. We have three of the top 12 players for xga. Richarlison currently underperforming his xg by 1.7, last year underperformed it by 2.5, in 20/21 underperformed it by 3.7. Natural for players to underperform xg for stretches or over the odd season, bit of a concern that he's underperformed it consistently for 3 or 4 years now. Obviously stats aren't the be all, end all. The game is played on a field, not a spreadsheet. Personally I rarely feel as if he'll score a chance if it isn't a headed opportunity.

Thought I'd look at his numbers for this season. He's played just 466 minutes in all comps this season and has 2 goals and 2 assists.

So hes been involved in a goal every 116.5 minutes or every 1.29 games.

In comparison :

Kulusevski - Involved every 2.7 games
Son - Involved every 1.2 games
Perisic - Involved every 0.9 games
Solomon - Involved every 1.5 games
