Hmmm...don't know about that, at one stage he was the only one scoring for us. Also probably wouldn't have won the 99 league cup without the big fella.Steffen Iversen comes to mind, he was probably the biggest disappointment for me, was billed as a massive talent and was in the end only good enough for one season.
Gets my vote too.For me Ilie Dumitrescu should have been so much better.

We signed Ferdinand when his best days were behind him. Mind, like rebrov, he had a poor midfield behind himTaarabt - what a fucking waste of talent.
Sir Les - just not enough goals, dried up a fair bit with us.
My first visit to the lane was 30th April 1977 and the biggest disappointment was that there was no Alfie conn - he had long been dropped from the first team I believe for disciplinary reasons rather on field performances - still got to see a young Glenn hoddle score a banger so turned out ok!!couple for the oldies
as mentioned Rebrov, felt" the man in the raincoat" was the problem seemed to always play Rebrov out wide should have been in the middle
Alfie Conn, so good in Scotland yet never showed up here
Chris Mcgarth was so promising went to Man U and that was it
Martin Jol hailed Tom Huddlestone as his "Beckenbauer" and the finest midfield talent of his age in Europe.
Good enough for me!!
Fair enoughI thought he was going to be massive... was never a bad player but I thought he was going to be so much more, thought he was hyped up to be something truly great.
